Thanks Henning and Sean!
I agree with both of you, this machine is pretty astonishing in what it can do, considering it's fully mechanic! However, as you mentioned, plastic parts are prone to fail, and sometimes they are a pain to print and replace. I got lucky, since it's one of the latest models (1978), with some of the plastic parts replaced with metal ones: I only had to rebuild the tape reader driving gear, as well as a slider on the keyboard memory accumulator, and it was ready to go!
At the moment it's connected to RS-232 via Arduino: it's not much, but at least it can send and receive characters from my PC.
It can communicate both in single and double current: as I heard, Olivetti used to distribute in Italy the A-011, a single current, keyboard selection Telex adapter. Dial selection was possible (single/double) but uncommon, at least here.
I'm looking forward to hearing from Sean for this solution!
