Moin,
man hat ja schon öfter gehört, dass Telegrafenrelais in FSGs von Funkamateuren durch Papierstreifen oder ähnliches blockiert wurden.
Kennt jemand den genauen Hintergrund, wieso weshalb warum dieser FS nicht wählen sollte/durfte ?

I think the answer is simple - in AFU service, or any RTTY service, there simply is no need for the ability to switch on or off the motor, and certainly no need to dial a number.
RTTY by its nature has control by switching the transmitter on and off, some converters controlled the motor power feed, but over a fading communication path, having the machine running 100% of the time was essential.
Sadly, a lot of AFU publications recommended wholesale permanent changes to machines to remove all the Telex functionality that we require these days.
There are lots of publications here in the UK that heartily reccomend breaking up the "FSG" to provide parts for the loop supply, or even to make a nice enclosure for the Terminal Unit.
I have a Control Unit No.6 here that matches the Creed 444 that has been converted (read destroyed) to house the Mainline ST5 terminal unit.
Luckily for most German machines, the modifications are not so extreme to be irreversible, well other than removing metal from the trigger lever on the T100 Answerback mechanism......
