Hi Bambi,
first of all you will need the TW39 + Serial (aka TW39 Plus) card as I think you don't have yet.
One port of this card works as a fully operational teleprinter. If no terminal connected incoming messages
will go into storage and can be read either from another extension of the i-Telex system or directly
once a terminal (software) is connected again. Works like an answering machine.
Johannes from Italy also made a nice terminal software tailored for the serial port of the
TW39 "Plus" card.

This one ? Than you can try to connect it with a RS232 cross over cable (null modem cable) to your PC and use a terminal program to connect to the card. Settings are 9600 baud, 8 Bit, no parity, no handshake.
If your PC/laptop does not have a RS232 interface use a RS232/USB-adapter + null modem cable or a RS232/USB adapter with integrated null modem cable.

Hello Detlef:
Thank you for your message.
I followed your settings information and I was able to get online with the Teletype TT-15 via a TTY to RS-232C
interface then to I-TELEX and I had a live conversation with Gold Coast I-TELEX user Richard (61001).
I have to use a laptop to make the CTRL A code but then plugged in the interface that was connected to the Teletype TT-15 and dialed.
I have just restored this machine, so I think it may have been its first communication in 40+ years. Happy days!
Thanks again.

Hello Detlef:
1. Could you tell me where all the CTRL codes are listed for the "teletype replacement" service please?
2. Is it possible to set a user Answer Back?
Thank you -byes- bambi:

Hello Bambi,
The codes are descibeld here:
https://wiki.telexforum.de/index.php?ti ... _Bedienung
Unfortunately there is no English translation but maybe Google can help.
The is no User Answerback.
You can set the Answerback in the configuration (CTRL-K).

Thank you Detlef for your kind information and the additional TELEX.
The interface I use between the Teletype and the I-TELEX will be programed
with the CTRL key information being activated with the key sequence of BLANK then letter.
The designer is kindly coding a special version for I-TELEX and Teletype Model 15 users, like me.
Thanks again -byes- bambi:

That sounds interesting. What device is used as interface/converter between the Teletype and the Serial Card and how is it programmed? Perhaps this will be of interest to other Teletype owners as well.

I placed a link to the interface I am using in previous post, but here it is again.
The interface provides the loop current and also will accept AFSK input. as well as having a RS-232C port.
It is made especially for the Teletype Model 15.

(Sorry English only)
There is a separate
interface for Teletype model 33 also available.
