Vielen Dank.

Ein paar kleiner Komplikationen gab es noch beim Interpretieren der empfangenen E-Mails. Die können im Text- oder Html-Format kommen. Theoretisch gibt es auch noch Richtext-Format. Letzteres kann ich nicht testen und das wird vermutlich fehlschlagen. Falls jemand ein E-Mail-Programm hat, wo man Richtext explizit angeben kann, bitte mal ausprobieren und im Betreff vermerken, dass das Richtext ist.

Der Html-nach-Text-Umsetzer hat noch nicht richtig funktioniert. Ich habe jetzt einen anderen genommen und hoffe, dass das jetzt besser klappt.

Heute morgen sind dann noch 2 oder 3 Fernschreiben von E-Mails rausgegangen, die bisher nicht interpretiert werden konnten.

Ups. Da wurden jetzt ein paar Telexe mehrfach zugestellt. Sorry, da habe ich beim Testen nicht aufgepasst.

Danke für die Erklärung. Ich bin gerade von Würzburg zurück gekommen und habe mich über die alten Testnachrichten gewundert.
Nun das ist alles kein Problem, solange man es nachvollziehen kann. Leider habe ich noch nicht herausgefunden in welchem Format mein Smarphone Nachrichten sendet.

Ich habe Office 365, allerdings nur die Online-Version. Da habe ich die Richtext-Option nicht gefunden. Ich nutze allerdings Outlook normalerweise nicht, deswegen kenne ich mich damit nicht aus.

Hallo Detlef,

ich mag diesen ganzen Online-Kram überhaupt nicht. Ich benutze hier gerade noch Outlook 2016, das ich einmal gekauft habe und und auch mir gehört.
Dort kann man beim Erstellen einer Nachricht im Reiter "Text formatieren" das entsprechende Format auswählen.

Der Test gerade eben hat einwandfrei funktioniert. Die Nachricht kam auch zügig an. Ich kann da nicht meckern.

Die Nachricht wird hier von dem Mail-Client, den ich verwende, wie eine Textnachricht behandelt.
Das scheint wohl irgendwie zu funktionieren.

I have used this a little more and it works really well even when my friend added text to the subject line as well as the #Telexnummer.

One thing i did note was the reply came via 11170 rather than 11171 but i presume it would be hard to route incoming messages so is probably not worth the effort. This is not a problem though, it helps me improve my German a little.

One problem i did encounter and i think i read this somewhere in this thread, was that a friend of mine has an underscore _ in their email address. Is there a character combination we can use for these non-telex characters? Maybe this is in in the HELP menu which i realise i have not checked.

This is not documented because the question has not come up yet and I have not found the time yet. You can use any ASCII character if you select the hexadecimal code from an ASCII table and insert it as two characters after a + character. This works in the address, in the subject and in the text.

For example: "Hans_Mueller" can be entered as "hans+5fmueller. "5f" is the hexadecimal code for "_". It's like the %xx values in browser addresses.

Thanks Detlef, that's perfect. i always seem to try and push the boundaries of the tech as much as possible I am glad I asked as the answer may help others trying to email unusual addresses.

The reply on 11170 is fine really as it's only a small amount of German which does help me learn a few new German words which is always gut.
