So, checking stock, I only have the USB card with development area - not so helpful.

I have a version 1.00 double current card - I will sacrifice this to use for development - I will "piggyback" the RS232 converter on some perf board.

Super, now it’s clear.

But another question: is it necessary to ‚echo‘ the keyboard input to the printer output or does this the T1000 by itself?

This is a good question Fred - I do not currently know the answer.

I will retrieve the ASR machine from storage and bring it back to life

Hi Fred,

ASR machine is now on the bench.

I can report that the machine already types and prints in local mode, even without any line connection (In fact even with no LAT installed at all :) )

I will see what I can do when I repair the LAT card - hopefully the same will apply.

Reading the T1000 manual on the forum, at least the keyboard dialling is meant to work - Again, I hope to verify shortly.

Hi Fred,

I managed to find some documentation for the crazy English T1000 (sadly not a service manual)
TGN Signalling data.PNG
From my reading of the ITU document relating to V.10 I would say that this is the interface standard that works with the T1000.

Regards
Sean

Okay... I will provide a test software for the RS232-Card

Hi Sean,
i'm sorry for not reading your posts correctly. YOu want to use the double current board as a base. Ok, generally possible. Another possibility is to use the USB card with the development area in the following way:
- Keep the USB interface unchanged
- Remove the parts for the TW39 interface (at least the optocouplers and the resistor at the control path to the relay)
- Use the development area and make connections to the controller dedicated to the TW39 for your tests.

Does the T1000 V.10 interface really need the negative polarity? How does the T1000 react if you use only +5 volt and "gnd"?

I don't know the T1000, but for FS200/V.10 I can say that it is unstable without negative polarity. Therefore I used a MAX232 for proper signal conversion; Jochen did it the minimalistic way and inserted a "pull up" resistor in his circuit:

Little late my reply,

I use a MAX3232 with V.10 Interface of my FS-200.
When powered with 3.3V it gives perfect signal level for V.10 Interface.

All the Best,

Isidro

As far as I can tell the FS200 doesn't mind the PM 9V of MAX232 powered at 5V
